New homes 'must cater for ageing'

Every new home built in England will have to be designed to suit an ageing population, under government plans.

Ministers want all new homes to include 16 features such as stairs wide enough for stairlifts, downstairs bathrooms, and room for wheelchairs to turn.

Builders have until 2010 to show they are adopting the standards, with the threat of compulsion from 2013 if not.

ADP appointed Access Consultants to Hull Kingston Rovers

ADP have been appointed Access Consultants advising Hull Kingston ImageRovers on all DDA matters (Disability Discrimination Act).  We will work along side the club and its disabled supporters in making Craven Park a more Accessible Stadium. Work is already under way in upgrading existing facilities.

Debenhams confirms commitment to making problem older stores accessible for disabled people

Arcadia Group faces disability legal challenge

The Arcadia Group – one of the country’s biggest clothing retailers - is facing court action for not making its Burton store in Stafford accessible to disabled customers, the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) revealed today.
